A married couple's love has faded since their daughter left home and moved abroad; does the news that she may be fatally caught in a terrorist attack strengthen or destroy their fragile relationship?
Director David Hewitt wanted to experiment with the use of split screen when shooting and editing 'I'm Here.' This posed a number of technical challenges but also presented some great artistic opportunities. Wherever possible all the actors in the scenes were filmed simultaneously and the performances matched across the split screen. The end result, particularly in the climax, offers the audience the opportunity to enjoy the unfolding drama as you might at the theatre, choosing where to look and when. The effect heightens both the immediacy and the authenticity of the performances.
